Abilene Christian looks like a team that must secure the WAC's automatic bid because its résumé offers a few promising wins but is undermined by several damaging losses, especially away from home and at neutral sites. The staff can point to a neutral victory over UT San Antonio, a strong home result against New Mexico State and a genuine road win at Pepperdine as evidence the team can compete, yet those highs are offset by heavy defeats at Arizona and BYU and by lopsided neutral and road setbacks to William & Mary and Cal Baptist that weaken the nonconference narrative. League play has produced meaningful home victories over Utah Valley and UT Arlington but has also featured recurring struggles on the road at Utah Tech, Utah Valley and Cal Baptist that erode an at-large case.
